These terms are the agreement between you and Daahqaad. Please read them.
Using the app means you accept them.
1Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use
of the Daahqaad app and website (the “Service”). By
creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and
to our
Privacy Policy. If you do
not agree, please do not use the Service.
2Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required to use
online services in your country, whichever is higher. By using the
Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the
information you provide is accurate.
3Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all
activity under your account. Tell us promptly at
support@daahqaad.com
if you believe your account has been compromised. You may not
impersonate others or use a username you have no right to use.
4Your content
You keep ownership of the stories, comments, audio, and other content
you create (“Your Content”). To operate the Service,
you grant Daahqaad a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to
host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to provide and
promote the Service, for example by showing your story to readers or
carrying your voice to a live room.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to
share it. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.
5Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
Post or broadcast unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, or defamatory material.
Share sexual content involving minors, or any content that exploits or endangers children.
Infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
Spam, scam, defraud, or mislead other people.
Distribute malware, or attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer the Service.
Record or redistribute another person’s audio outside the Service without their consent.
Collect other users’ data without permission.
6Live audio & recording
Hosts control their live rooms. A host can approve speakers, mute
participants, and remove or block people. When you speak in a room,
other participants can hear you and see your name and photo unless you
join privately.
A host may record a live session. By speaking in a room where
recording is enabled, you consent to your audio being recorded and
later made available as an on-demand episode. If you do not consent,
do not speak in that room.
7Moderation & blocking
To keep Daahqaad safe, any user can report content or a live podcast,
and hosts can mute, remove, or block participants from a single session
or from all of their sessions. If a host blocks you, you will not be
able to join their affected rooms until they unblock you. We may also
remove content or restrict accounts that breach these Terms. These
tools are provided in good faith and do not create a duty for us to
monitor all content.
8Intellectual property
The Daahqaad name, logo, design, and software are owned by Daahqaad and
protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our
branding without our prior written permission. All rights not expressly
granted are reserved.
9Third-party services
The Service relies on trusted providers, including Supabase and Amazon
Web Services (including Amazon IVS for live audio). Your use of the
Service may also be subject to the terms of the app stores through
which you download it. We are not responsible for third-party services
we do not control.
10Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as
available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or
implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that
the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that
content shared by other users is accurate or lawful.
11Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Daahqaad will not be liable for
any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any
loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the
Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited
under applicable law.
12Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We
may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where
necessary to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their
nature should survive termination, such as content licences already
granted, disclaimers, and limitations of liability, will continue to
apply.
13Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of
Somalia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where you have
mandatory legal rights under the law of your country of residence,
nothing in these Terms affects those rights.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material
changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify
you in the app. Continued use of the Service after an update means you
accept the revised Terms.
