Delete your account

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open the Daahqaad app and sign in.
2. Go to your profile, then Settings.
3. Choose Delete account.
4. Read what will be erased, then tap Delete my account forever and confirm.

There is no recovery step and no waiting period. Once you confirm, it is gone.

Or ask us to delete it

Email support@daahqaad.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We do not require a reason. We action these within 30 days and write back to confirm when it is done.

What is deleted

• All your stories, drafts and highlights
• Your applause, responses, bookmarks and reading history
• Your message conversations, on both sides
• Spaces you own, including their member lists
• Every photo you uploaded
• Your profile, your login and your email address

What is kept, and for how long

Two things can outlive the account, and only for as long as we are obliged to hold them:

• Payment and payout records. If you ever bought or were paid through Daahqaad, we keep the transaction records that our accounting and tax obligations require. These are financial records, not your profile.
• Safety and abuse records. Where an account was actioned for abuse, we keep a minimal record so the same harm cannot simply be repeated with a new account.

Anything else we must retain is anonymised so it can no longer be traced back to you. Copies held in routine backups are overwritten on the normal backup cycle. Our privacy policy sets out how long we hold data and why.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You do not have to leave to remove things. Stories, drafts, responses, highlights and photos can each be deleted individually inside the app, and your profile details can be cleared at any time from Settings. If you want something specific removed and cannot find where, email us and we will do it.
